Saturday Musings

The Real Men of Troy!

Been prepping for a few days off and had some time around the house today to catch up on some headlines and catch a little college action.

Here are some random stream-of-consciousness observations on the college gridiron scene...

Florida St. looks good in the all black...that said, after seeing pieces of Maryland, BC, FSU and UNC, the ACC is pretty mediocre at best...by the way, with all the recent suspensions, FSU is beginning to feel like the old Miami...go back to last year's cheating scandal around the Music City Bowl...on the topic of the U, Randy Shannon's doing a heckuva job and is going to be there for awhile...granted we're not final yet, but 31-3 Troy Trojans over the Bayou Bengals? In Baton Rouge? Next time someone tells me to pay attention to Tulsa...you know how the past few years everybody's been talking about not wanting to play USC towards the end of the year? I think that might be the Gators right about now...wow. Speaking of nutty, pretty sure that if someone gave you an over-under of 14 on combined wins between Auburn, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Michigan by this point in the year, most would have gone with the over and called you nuts for setting the bar so low...love that Bobby Petrino is struggling in Arkansas, couldn't happen to a more stand-up guy...I know Oregon St. has the opportunity and, technically, has every right, but the Beavers in the Rose Bowl? BC linebacker Mark Herzlich is Lattimer...Max Hall is still putting up huge numbers and I, like everyone else, don't care...Nick Saban looks like a pretty good coach now, huh...I'm pulling for Sylvester Croom but don't see him making through many more seasons like this...and last, but not least, is it wrong to take joy in seeing Michigan struggle this much? I didn't think so.

It's great to be a Florida Gator. I beat you on vacation too. Invading the Fl. till Dec 2. Keep my seat warm. It's almost like a cult really... I should start charging admission.
