Representing the High Socks: Is the Knee-High Flame Being Extinguished from the NBA?

One of My Vivid High Sock MemoriesIt's way too early for me to be watching multiple NBA games each week. I just can't do it. So, maybe my thesis is a little off due to lack of viewing. But, I saw Dwayne Wade rocking the knee-high tubes socks last week and it got me to thinking about the keepers of the flame. Like the afro, knee-high socks used to be par for the course in the days of the ABA. Even during my younger years, I remember NBA stars like Michael Coopers and Dr. J having their entire legs blanketed in ribbed white cotton.
But where have they gone? Who are the modern keepers of the high sock flame? A few folks come to mind when I think about NBA knee-highers from the recent past. But we could use some help:
JYD
I was always a fan of the Junkyard Dog. Great energy guy. Good rebounder. Ran the floor well. You always knew what you were getting with Jerome Williams. And part of that was, of course, the high socks.
The Wizard
From Maryland to his several stops in the Association, we always had a soft spot for "The Wizard." While he never quite lived up to the hype, his respect to the high-sock was always strong to quite strong.
X-Factor
Xavier seems to have a tradition of guys rocking the high socks. James Posey continues to represent the Musketeers -- and the high sock -- during his pro career.
Jason Terry
I recall Terry wearing the knee-highs with "Cats" inscribed across the top in caps during his days in Tuscon as a Wildcat. He's still rocking them today. One of the few smaller guard-types I recall consistently sporting high socks.
Julian Wright
Wright went #13 overall in the 2007 draft. Who knew? The former Kansas Jayhawk isn't doing much for the Hornets, outside of making a sock statement when he does find his way onto the court.
Lawrence Moten
Lawrence is still who we immediately think of when recalling the knee-high sock. Admittedly our memories are a bit more from his days as a 'Cuse star than his tenure as a member of the Grizzle. I wonder if he's imparting any fashion advice to his players.
Who else, all you NBA junkies? Is the high sock an endangered species, or does it have a future in the Association? Talk to us.

awesome call on kittles. had that one in my head and forgot to show him love. inexcusable.
Kittles used to rock the one high sock, one low sock combination back at Villanova. That has to count for something.
Also, Elliott Perry has to be on the list, Barkley named him "Socks" when they were at Phoenix.
