Ramon Sessions Loves "Martin"
Marrr-ten!I sometimes share random crap. That's the beauty of having a blog. A thought can enter your head and, voila, a platform awaits that provides the opportunity to to barf it right out. Today, it's Ramon Sessions's television preferences that are amusing me.
One of the regular features that SI added to its weekly print edition a few years back is the "Pop Culture Grid," where they ask various athletes to answer the same set of occasionally thought-provoking questions. While I hated it at first, the little insert has grown on me -- slightly. Which brings me to this week.
Ramon Sessions, second-year guard for the Milwaukee Bucks, was one of SI's esteemed panelists this past week. Sessions has become a no-joke player in the League, but I have to call him to task for his answer to the question "best TV show you've seen in the past week?" While others threw out "The Office" and other somewhat-predictable titles, Sessions went old-school with "Martin."
Now, I'd be lying if I claimed I didn't love me some "Martin" back in my grade school days. But, honestly, doesn't one grow out of such a sitcom by, say, their 20s? Apparently, Sessions hasn't hooked up his TiVo with Slingbox or something so he can catch some DVR'd shows on the road.
Until then, it looks like "Martin" may be the cream of the crop. Wonder what his favorite for next week could be. I'm thinking "227" or ""Married with Children."
