Reading That's Easy On The Eyes

Hello Legend reader, it seems like a good time to spin you around the blogosphere and look at some tantalizing material. First stop is at Steady Burn, where they have a feature about a one-armed roller derby star. I always thought that roller derby was fake, kinda like the WWE. But it does remind me of when I was a young buck getting into bars on a fake id. There were stories of a great one-armed foosball player who could beat the pants off of any two-armed counterpart. He was like a mix of this roller girl and Kaiser Soze.

Manny might have ditched the Tribe for the big bucks of the Red Sox (when they started becoming lousy big-spending jerks like the Yankees), but watching him snap out of a daydream and make a great defensive play still brings a smile to my face. Needless to say, I was delighted to see this running catch, jump on the wall to high five a Sox fan, then throw back in to complete the double play a couple of nights ago. Over at The Lost Ogle.com (via Deadspin), they tracked down and interviewed the recipient of Manny's high five.

It's hard to hate Big Shot Rob, but The Big Lead points out that Horry has (de?)volved into Cheap Shot Artist Rob, considering last year's decking of Steve Nash, and last night's hack job on the Hornets David West. I guess it just helps to prove the theory outlined by Cecilio's Scribe.

Mac Gs World provides a review of "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." I haven't seen the movie, but it's probably the best movie review I've ever read since it's basically a bunch of pictures of Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell.

While I don't usually condone posts correlating Cavs players with herpes, you have to check out Bill Palmer Sports because they've compiled a bunch of YouTube clips of Delonte West interviews. Delonte West interviews are hilarious, everyone should experience the joy of watching and listening to Delonte speak.

And lastly, The Legend of Cecilio Guante, has enjoyed unprecedented success over the past two months which could not have been achieved without you - our loyal readers. So, thank you. Particularly all of you who our daily visitors and have been with us from day one.

We also wanted to shower some love upon a few of our blogging brethren who frequently throw LCG a link. They are like way more popular than us, and they're constantly cranking out good material (and a lot of it). So, if you frequent sports blogs and haven't checked these guys out, I promise good reading at
Fan IQ (100% Injury Rate), Sports by Brooks, With Leather, Mac G's World, The Sporting Blog, Busted Coverage (always there for your T&A fix) and of course the Godfather (I'm thinking more like Mitch from "Old School" than Don Corleone) of blogs, Deadspin.

Oh yes, we'd be remiss not to give an ole virtual fist bump to Jimmy Traina at SI's Hot Clicks for sharing his always-ample traffic with us from time to time. You're like the smokin' chick in high school whose attention we're always trying to capture. Most of the time we are rightfully spurned, but, occasionally, when we really turn on the charm you'll give us a wink. And every one of those winks is like a gift that keeps giving, yet simultaneously keeps us even hungrier for more.

Have a good weekend, all.

I've always hated Robert Horry. Ever since he threw the towel (literally) in his coach's face (Danny Ainge) or taking a swing at Jeff Hornacek in 1997. He's got this supposed persona of hitting clutch shots, when all he is, I think, is a punk.

Thanks for the Shout Out Love. It is the same feeling Eddie House must have felt yesterday when the Boston crowd was "cheering" Eddie.
