Who Has Possessed Eli Manning? We Have an Idea...

We're Still Waiting for the Head to Start Spinning 360-Style

We're not sure who this man is. We've never seen this look before. Ever. It's the expression of a quarterback who is in some way emotionally vested in the game in which he is competing. This person, apparently, is Eli Manning. We're having an unbelievably hard time reconciling this fact. However, we have a theory that, in part, explains Elisha's performance over the past two weeks. He was possessed.

C'mon, you had to have seen it like we did. How many times did it appear that "bad Eli" was getting ready to launch an ill-conceived pass into double coverage only to pull down the ball? How many times did he appear poised to force the issue as he had so many times during the regular season with terrible consequences? How many times...yet each time he seemed to be halted by an otherwordly force from making the disastrous play in favor of the right one.

Not only are we convinced he was possessed, we even have an idea about a likely culprit...the little person who got into Eli's head and started talking to him from the opening snap. You know that Peyton's "Manning's Mind" Sprint commercial? Yup. The little Manning in the back of the hallway who tells Peyton "Clark," took over Eli's mind and body on Sunday against the Bucs.
He was there whispering, "no, bad Eli" followed by "Boss," "Burress" "Jacobs" and "Toomer" in hushed tones. He was there time and time again, perched atop Eli's shoulder, a guardian angel of good descision-making.

If that spirit accompanies Eli next week in Dallas, dare I say, the G-Men have a decent chance.

The fact about Eli is that he is at his "best" when he isn't at his worst. He is never going to WIN the game. All he can do is not lose it. As soon as everyone sets those expectations for him accordingly, he will be fine.

As for the game next week, the G-Men have a very very good chance if their front 4 can apply pressure to Romo without the use of extra blitzers. They did a supreme job against TB's o-line and they will need to do the same against Jessica's Boy Toy if they want to beat the Cowboys.

The Giants will be underdogs, but I would expect it to be by about a field goal instead of by a touchdown. I haven't looked at the lines yet, though.

The giants are winning despite eli, not because of him. He is still a loser and will always be a loser. he needs to detatch his umbilical cord from his daddy. I like the giants in this matchup and i hope they win, but i also hope eli gets raped by the pack.
