New Feature: Weekly Moment of Dumbfoundedness
Greetings, ye loyal followers of the Legend. Just returned from a quick biz trip to Orlando, capped off by a 9-hour Orlando to NYC apt trip compliments of those folks who were in the news earlier this year. Granted, there was weather and all that good stuff, but not one of my better experiences. But, based on the immutable laws of business travel, I'd had a pretty good streak going so I was probably due.
Anyway...during hours of idledness we've come up with a new feature. It's inspired by the new alternate universe of sports we live in where nothing seems to make sense. Kind of like SI's old "This Week's Sign that the Apocalypse is Upon Us," but different.
However, first things first...we want to thank all of the longtime subsrcibers and new readers at The Legend of Cecilio Guante. As we approach the end of October, we're pushing 10,000 visitors for the month. To put that in perspective, we came out of the gate in July with 443 as we introduced ourselves to the blogosphere. August visitors totaled 722. September we climbed to 2,522. And, now, we sit at 9,418 upon writing of this post. In the words of my financial friends, I believe this could be referred to as "positive trending."
Of course, in this crazy mixed up Internet world, none of this would be possible without a little help from our blogospherial brethren. So, we'd like to quickly thank some of the far-more-popular-than-us outlets out there who've shown some love to Cecilio during the month of October including:
100% Injury Rate: One of the best out there bringing us consistently good stuff, including news of Jason Elam's weirdest book ever. The kind editors there have thrown us links on Mets madness and Sunday weddings. Much obliged, gentleman.
Deadspin: Honestly, if you told us a few months ago we'd get two links in the same month from Leitch and crew at the gold standard of sports blogs, we'd be speechless. Go figure...it happened here and here.
ESPN True Hoop: There are few who get mentioned in the same breath when it comes to covering the NBA on the Internet. Henry Abbott helped spread the word about the DeShawn Stevenson moron clauses and stellar Washington Wizards blogs Bullets Forever and We're Off to See the Wizards added genuinely appreciated fuel to the fire.
We also can't go without recognizing other members of the sports blog ruling cartel including With Leather, The Big Lead and Scott Van Pelt Style (if you're from the D.C. area and enjoy sports, you need to subscribe to this one) for linkage.
Additionally, some shout-outs to A Sea of Blue (great UK blog), Construda (arguably the best new blog name of the year), Big Ten Tailgate, ESPN's Rob Neyer, East Coast Bias and Home Run Derby (enjoy these guys for the rest of the World Series).
Once again, thanks to all of these great blogs and to all of our readers.
Without further adieu, this week's Moment of Dumbfoundedness officially brought to you by our unofficial sponsor the AFLAC duck ("if you get hurt and miss work, it won't hurt to miss work. And they give cash, which is just as good as money).

The Bulls and Huskies...a top 25 battle in college football with serious BCS and bowl game implications. It is official. Nothing makes sense any more.
